Church Growth and Planting Enabler (CGPE)
Now more than ever, there is a need for creativity and innovation to reach the unreached and release God’s people to be salt and light in the streets and in the cloud, bringing life, hope, comfort and joy to our neighbours and to our world. Christ Church and St Barnabas Church are Anglican Evangelical sister churches sharing a parish 5-miles south west of Nottingham City centre. Whilst they are already actively engaged in serving their local communities in a wide range of ways online and offline, they are hungry to build on present progress to break new ground and bring new life better reflecting the people and communities being reached. This role is all about adding capacity to catalyse and spearhead that work.
Within 18-months of appointment we expect a new worshipping community (NWC – a plant, graft, revitalisation, fresh expression, etc) to have begun. This NWC, under the close oversight of the CGPE, would be set into motion through a passionate team of local lay people to be grown by evangelism. The CGPE will prepare and establish that team in such a way that the NWC does not depend on and revolve around the CGPE. The CGPE will continue to guide and support the NWC but will also be expected to begin the process of building other teams for future NWCs.
The CGPE will play an essential part in helping the parish to achieve key elements of its strategic vision that by 2025 we will have:
- Welcomed at least 150 new followers of Jesus.
- Released at least 15 new emerging leaders in calls to ministry and mission.
- Commissioned a team to grow a worshipping community.
