An Unexpected Christmas

An Unexpected Christmas

At Christ Church our vision for the children’s work is to provide comprehensive, unified and relevant groups and events, that equips and challenges children to live inspirational lives, that are grounded in the Gospel and are on fire for God. We want to inspire a dynamic and creative leadership team, who are supported in ministry, servant-hearted in leadership, and dedicated to building God’s Kingdom in the hearts and minds of a new generation, as part of a vibrant wider church.

scramblersWe want to offer children a great time on Sunday mornings. We hope that we will help every child to grow in relationship with Jesus and to have good friends of all ages. We use small groups where the leaders and children can develop trust and openness – and have fun together!

We also aim to involve children fully in the life and ministry of the church, recognising that we all learn from each other.

In all our groups we welcome and include children with special needs.

Sunday Groups:

Little Sparks (0 – 2 years)

Creche1Available during the 10.45am service on Sundays when there are children’s groups. Parents are welcome to stay with or leave their children as they wish. Toys are provided for all ages as well as a drink and biscuit.

Sparklers (3 years – Reception)

Our aim is to enable the children to get to know Jesus for themselves in a safe and fun environment. We start with free play and then spend time together singing, sharing a Bible story, praying and enjoying a drink and biscuit. We finish by making something to take home.

Glow (Years 1 – 3)

We start every session with a chat about the week we have had by sharing experiences and telling stories. We also play games, listen to a Bible story and make, colour or build something. Glow is all about fun, friends and finding out more about Jesus!

Ignite (Years 4 – 6)

Ignite is a place to explore the Bible and learn how to apply it to our everyday lives. We like listening to stories, drawing, making stuff, watching DVDs and playing as many silly games as we possibly can.
