Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
On a Sunday morning we meet for ‘Pathfinders Worship’ where we aim to worship God and disciple each other so that we can share the love of Jesus with our friends. We meet in the lounge between 10.45 am and 12 pm (during the 10.45 service).
Breakfast. As everyone arrives we have some toast, pancakes and drinks with some music in the background. This is a great opportunity to catch up and play games before the session starts.
Worship. We have a time of sung worship, often led by the young people and sometimes by the leaders.
Teaching. We aim to make the Bible come to life and make it relevant to our young people’s lives. A pathfinder leader or guest speaker will lead the teaching, with the talk lasting about 5-7 minutes.
Groups. At the end of each talk we split into small groups to discuss any questions raised and to go deeper into the teaching. We believe this is a great opportunity for young people to ask further questions and explore how they can apply the teaching to their own lives.
Prayer. At the end we come together again to pray for each other and the coming week.
As well as meeting on Sunday mornings, we get together on Thursday evenings 7 – 8.30 pm where we mainly do fun stuff together like bowling, film nights, or games nights.
We also have an annual weekend residential at the Oakes in Sheffield. During the weekend there are many fun activities to get involved with such as rock climbing, canoeing, and tough mudder; but there is also some great worship and teaching each morning and evening.
